YouTube Red – First Look and Thoughts

Curious about YouTube’s new paid subscription service? It’s called YouTube Red, and I’ll walk you through the sign-up process so you know exactly what to expect.

YouTube Red is a paid subscription service that will cost you $9.99 a month if you purchase it directly from YouTube. It will cost you $12.99 a month if you sign up elsewhere, so save yourself the money and get it from YouTube.

Begin your free one-month trial by going to YouTube.com/red and following the sign-up process there. It’s pretty easy to navigate through it, but if you need a little help, watch the step-by-step process on the video.

But why would you want to pay for YouTube when you can still use it for free? Well, because the membership includes ad-free viewing and listening, offline usage, and background play. Eventually, there will also be videos on YouTube available only to Red members.

Some YouTube users will find it worth the membership fee to be able to view or listen ad free and offline, and the background play option could be really handy so you don’t lose your video when you need to text or make a phone call.

As you can see in the video, I signed up for YouTube Red, so I’ll give it whirl and let you know what I think.
