In the beginning of the year, I promised a lot of helpful tips along with updates to our ever- changing world that revolves around the Internet. The Internet has opened up ways for people to view content in many shapes and forms. That is why it is important to reward loyal viewers and customers with something a little extra special.

Now, I’ve already mentions to you in previous articles to find the right price for your products and services. And with that, I also discussed techniques and methods that focused on offering discounts when devising your marketing strategy, and how that can strengthen your brand and the products you carry to the millions of people out there.

Now let me tell you why giving something away for free can make you money. Since every brand out there is trying to sell something, people can feel inundated or pressured to part with their money when they really didn’t feel confident that what they were buying from you was the best deal or option for them. When loyal viewers and fans return time after time to specifically look over the content you continually create, how better of a way to show your appreciation than by giving them something back in return? It may be something as simple as a coupon, maybe a discount on their next purchase, or even a free eBook to thank them for their devotion and belief in your brand, products, or services. Remember, every brand is different, so be committed on finding out what will work best with your business.

When something is offered to customers for free or even offered a discount through coupons or vouchers, your customers immediately feel that ‘pressure to buy’ quickly disappearing. And by doing this, it also offers customers a chance to try out your product before they delve into something bigger or more expensive that didn’t fulfill their needs. Using this type of strategy will build your customers’ confidence and allow them to feel valuable as a buyer.

With that being said, remember these important strategies:

  • Define your target audience
  • Find out what they truly want from you
  • Give stuff away that will build your customers confidence in you
  • Interact with your customers; this builds trust and grows your community

The human being is very diverse in its ability to know when something is of value to them. They are inclined to follow reciprocity because of the way the human brain is programmed for survival. When we can offer an exchange of goods for something else, it is a win-win situation for both parties. Take for example life as it was one hundred years ago. A stone mason would trade his quality brick work to someone who crafted fine furniture. This is still done today, but the times have changed in the way we exchange the value of our products and services.

By using this type of approach towards your faithful customers as well as prospective ones, developing and build your pipeline of investors by adding value to their lives is truly the way to go. This is also great for longer engagement, which will lead to more likes and shares that continually builds upon your brand one click at a time.

If more viewers are engaging your content because you have found the concept of giving something away for free works well for your target audience, then you now have about a million different ways to incorporate that method into your marketing strategy.

From the many things to be learned out there is that most people, who receive something for free, will irrevocably want to offer a donation or ask to contribute in some way to say ‘thanks’ for sharing a free gift with them.

What better way is there to meet interesting people, initiate conversation, and build your community… besides making more money selling your valuable products and services to your loyal customers?
