The whole reason why it’s important to create a playlist on your YouTube channel is to organize videos and create a better experience for those viewing them. Some of you may have hundreds of playlists and some of you may be asking yourself what a playlist is all about. And I am here to tell you how to make them a part of your YouTube channel so they will benefit your viewers experience.

First of all, a playlist is just a way of organizing your videos into different genres or themes. And for you older folks, it’s like creating a mixed tape! One way to do this is to create a playlist on your YouTube channel by adding your own videos to a playlist which is easily done in the Video Manager.

After selecting a few random videos to test, you can create a playlist. Name it, and remember to choose the type of privacy you want. Is it going to be a playlist that is public, unlisted, or private? Just something you need to think about. Now your playlist has several videos in it. If you go over to the left-hand side and click on Playlists, you will be able to see that you have created your very own playlist.

Don’t forget that you can hit the Edit button at any time and add more videos to your playlists, and you can always arrow down to Video Manager and add additional videos into any playlist that you want to add them to.

Playlists can be really great for ranking your YouTube videos because it is all about watch time for really ranking those videos on YouTube. As soon as people finish watching the first video in your playlist it will automatically start playing the next video in the series. YouTube loves ‘watch time’ and there is no better way to encourage it than having multiple playlists. As you have more watch time on your videos and your channel, you are going to get your videos ranked higher in the search.
