Since I love what I do and love developing audiences, I decided to do a brand new segment on my YouTube channel. What happens here is that I pick a very engaged subscriber and do a channel evaluation for them. This entails looking over the things they are doing with their YouTube channel, and then I give tips and advice on how to make things more effective for their YouTube channel so that they can make more money and grow their channel to the next level.
My first evaluation went to Lindsey. I could see that she was really trying to make it on YouTube, so I contacted her and did some preliminary instruction to help her get started. Lindsey started her YouTube channel about 4 years ago because she loves to craft. Her blog started out with instructions on how to do certain things, and then it grew into doing a few videos with instructions of the actual projects, and now she has a good YouTube following.
After talking with Lindsey, I found out that she balances her family life with her crafting, but she also wanted to make some real money at what she loved to do with making crafts. She felt like it was time to take things to the next level with her YouTube channel, her love of crafts, and developing a larger audience.
With just a few suggestions of how to change things around with her video, I was able to see a large spike in Lindsey’s video traffic. I helped her understand that by making more strategic video, and having them be more centered on the most important aspects of what she is trying to do, it would really change how people viewed what she was doing. Now everything has changed for her. Now Lindsey has more subscribers, her viewer engagement has skyrocketed, and her community is growing bigger every week. She has even been featured on a local news channel because of her increased traffic on her YouTube channel.
I’m excited for this channel evaluation segment because every month I am going to choose a few of my every engaged subscribers to help them get better at what they are doing. It’s all about making money and I am excited to show you how to do it!
