YouTube is phasing out the old Inbox and with it there are a lot of you out there that are trying to figure out how to send a Private Message to a YouTube channel, or get ahold of another content creator to do some collaborating. There is a new way to actually send a private message on YouTube to channels and content creators, but not many people know how to do it.

To send a private message on YouTube to channels or content creator, the first thing that you need to do is be on the channel’s page. As my example, we will use Redhead Express. They are a new channel that I am promoting. Once you are on their channel, you can send them a message through the discussion and click to send them a message. Remember, this is not a private message. Everyone is able to see this.

Now, to send a send a private message on YouTube to channels, you will go to the About button which will also show their email address if they have it set up that way. To send the message, a little pop-up button allows you to send a message to the content creator or the manager for the channel. There is a lot of content creators that have someone managing their stuff and you are able to send a message to them. Hopefully it gets past the gatekeeper.

My message to the Redhead Express is… “Hi! I love your stuff!” And once you put your little message in there, it is ready to send. Keep in mind that you don’t put links in there or it will automatically try to filter it as spam.

Another quick tid-bit of information: I you go to the upper right-hand side, click on Creator Studio, over to Community, and it will bring you to Messages. You will now see that sent message and get to see the message that you actually sent.

Just reach out and if they reach back, then your can correspond via email or put links in after the fact. But once you put your message in here, go ahead and click the Send button. Take time on your private messages and don’t let it look spammy. Content creators hate spam with a passion, so you don’t want to upset them so you get flagged.
