You may have tried to delete your YouTube channel and realized that it isn’t as easy as you thought it was going to be. And the one reason for all of this is because YouTube has made some changes and moved everything around‒ not to mention the Google+ Integration. For most of us, this has become confusing and really frustrating.

Some of you may not know that there is actually 3 different ways to delete a YouTube channel based of the factors that you set-up in your account. So if it is a stand-a-lone account, you can do it one way. If it’s tied to a Google+ Profile, then you have to delete it another way. And yet, if it is connected to a Google+ Page, again, you have to delete it differently from the others. But rest assured‒ I will show you these ways to delete a YouTube channel forever‒ explained in quick, easy steps.

To Delete Your YouTube Channel:

  1. First, check in the upper right-hand corner, go to Settings to make sure that you are not connected to a to Google+ account‒ you won’t see anything with Google+ in the settings. To delete this account, click on Settings, see your account information, and click on the Advanced link. Another way is to access YouTube.com/account_advanced and you will find the Delete button there. If you choose to click on the Delete button, you will be asked to login with your password. It will ask you if you really want to delete this YouTube account. Once you click on the Delete button, that specific channel in now gone.
  2. The second way is to delete a YouTube channel that is attached to a Google+ Profile. Click at the top to see that you are connected to a profile or click on Settings, and find the Edit button on Google+. It will ask you to take the tour because YouTube has made that for you, but you don’t have to do that. Head back to YouTube and at the top will be Google’s information with a link. Right here, make sure that there is only one YouTube channel that is connected to this because if you delete it, it is going to delete everything. Now, to switch the account, click on the only channel that is associated with YouTube. If there are multiple channels, then you will see that there are multiple channels connected with this. So, you will need to delete the channel that is only connected to your Google+ Profile. Read through all of the information because it will delete all of your associations, subscribers, and people in your circle. Click on the button Remove Selected Services. That is it! You have successfully deleted that YouTube channel that was connected to your Google+ Profile… however; your Gmail account is not deleted.
  3. And the third way to delete a YouTube channel that is connected to a Google+ Page is to mouse over to the top and click Switch Account. The reason for this is to switch the account before you can delete it. Now, login to that specific YouTube channel and go to YouTube Settings. Click on Advanced and hit the Delete button. It will ask you to login again, so add your password, etc. It will ask if you are sure you want to delete this… and all you have to do is click Yes. That YouTube channel is now gone.
