QR codes are everywhere. They’re in marketing material, on postcards, business cards, brochures, direct mails, and billboards. They are seen everywhere! There are different things that you can do to create those wonderful QR codes.

Type in “QR Code Generator” in Google and you will see thousands upon thousands of different generators. After much research the one I’ve found most useful is “QR Code Monkey” found at www.qrcode-monkey.com. “QR Code Monkey” is useful because can do URL’s, text, email, phone, SMS, big time, Vcard, Mecard, Location based Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and WiFi. It’s also super easy to use.

First step is to type in a URL. Then choose the type of color for the QR code by either typing in the color code or finding an appropriate color for the QR Code being created. Down in the right hand corner is create QR codes. And it’s as simple as that.

Also you have the option to upload an image. Images may be uploaded from their gallery of images or from a personal computer. The image is now set to the URL. Now create the QR code. The logo should automatically be brought right into the QR code. To save the file put it in a vector base. EPS or PDF are recommended when exporting it. It automatically saves it to the desktop or the downloads folder. That is how to do the web version, this can also be done text, email, phone, SMS, and Vcard.

For Macintosh Applications I recommend IQR. Simply go to the App Store and search for IQR. They have many useful tools including shortening services. If the URL is too long shortening it will make it so the QR code isn’t holding as much information. This app also has options for Twitter, checking in with 4Square, Pinterest or YouTube. This application has many options. The QR Code reliability level can be changed, pixel style can be changed control point style can be changed, background color can be changed. Spend time creating this QR code to look exactly the way it is supposed to. This app is very customizable. When it’s finished check that the QR code still works.

As far as QR code generators for windows after much research and going through a lot of spam out there my recommendation for windows users is just use QR monkey. Just go to the www.qrcode-monkey.com.
