A web log is what started in the late 90’s, and became popular as an online diary or journal of sorts.  Many people found this as a place to express themselves about the passions they find important and frequently update their web log; some on a daily basis.  This so called “web log” spread like wildfire as everyone seemed to have something to say.  The web log was quickly coined the “blog” with the video blog next in line.

Video content seems to be the way for everyone to share ideas, opinions and information with others, and has revolutionized the way content creators talk to their audiences.  It is the new voice that people are sharing on all types of platforms and it is quickly becoming one of the best kept secrets for businesses.

This kind of marketing is all about content.  It is big business and that is why brands and businesses can grow their target market and grow their audience with vlogs.  Besides, consumers love video, and its popularity is surpassing everything else at an alarming rate.  This kind of conversation builds up dedicated followers because they build trust and show that there is a real person behind the camera.  That is why vlogs make total sense for marketers.

Video marketing is dominating all online platforms.  The reason for this is that vlogging for businesses builds a consistent face for viewers to connect with.  You can see the incredible potential for social conversation and sharing.  It’s a known fact that only a few will read the words on a webpage where video is instantly engaging… keeping viewers watching vlogs for their charm and instant appeal.  Vlogging attracts larger audiences‒ especially if they can see the emotion behind your words.  Vlogs are more personal and can touch people more enthusiastically as it creates a more personable experience for viewers to reason why they want to buy your products.

Another great strategy that comes from vlogging is the way you can communicate directly to your audience.  Let those who read your vlog comment as well as share their own experiences.  Giving your viewers the option to share their thoughts and ideas along with yours is a great way to grow your community.  It’s important to have your viewers feel as if they are contributing to something important.  Every voice counts, so ask for their opinions, ask for feedback, and let your audience know that they are a very important part of your business.

There are other strategy tools that vlogger’s have found very valuable:

  • A great way to build your target audience is by giving things away, offering products at special prices, or host a contest where the winner(s) get an item with your brand on it. What better way to get your audience interested, involved, and excited at the same time.  This is a proven strategy for brand awareness especially for new businesses.  It is important to have strong tactics working for you at all times that easily spread your name and create an identity for your brand and business.
  • Vlogging shouldn’t take up a lot of time. Keeping it short and to the point will make your audience more willing to watch again.  If you can’t fit your message within a certain amount of time, then turn your vlog into a sequel.  Tell them that you will vlog the next half in a follow-up video to create curiosity.  Change things up with your vlogs to create interest and add value.  You can do this by choosing different locations to make it more exciting and interesting to the viewer.
  • Collaboration is great because it works. The key aspect of collaboration is that it exposes you to new audiences and promotes your brand at the same time.  When you associate with others that are easily recognized, this opens up new avenues for coverage.
  • Be trendy with your vlogs. Staying updated with the things happening around you and get your audience to take notice.  When a holiday hits, use this as a great way to add to your vlog.  Ask your fans for their thoughts and ideas.  Be genuinely interested in your viewer’s opinion and see what fascinates them.  This can be very powerful if used in the right way… especially when you are clean out of ideas.  Use one of your vlogs to get different suggestions and include your fan’s idea in your vlog.

Hopefully you can see the importance of vlogging.  Businesses can reach out to their audience farther with a vlog than they have ever reached before.  Humans are creatures of habit‒ so keep a consistent vlogging schedule‒ and keep it upbeat and exciting.

With the fast paced world that we live in, video is proven to be more dynamic and can make more of an impact for viewers.  Times have changed, and so must business owners who want to succeed.  Vlogging is the new way to share your content.  So get committed and make an impact as you see your business expanding to new heights as it grows more successful with the power of vlogging.
